When we first decided to develop this site, we wanted to provide PWD owners and other dog lovers with the kind of information that you couldn’t normally find on a regular breeder’s site.

But in providing that much information, we created another problem – how to organize and navigate through that much information.

To that end we have created the list you see here as links to the individual pages that discuss different aspects of the PWD’s rich and fascinating history, and the story of how one man, Vasco Bensaude, was responsible for helping save the breed from extinction.
